Pilanesberg Magic

Appreciate the magic of the Pilanesberg National Park in a spectacular and unique setting, just an hour's drive from Johannesburg and near to Sun City. With Bushcat Safaris, you can enjoy a one-day safari in the reserve or spend a couple of nights in a choice of different lodges and rest camps.

The 1 700 metre high Pilanesberg is a spectacular mass of rock, some 27 kilometres in length; a unique volcanic complex of mountain rings of granular red stone, surrounding a lush natural basin. Here the Pilanesberg National Park was created to provide a refuge for the species of animals that once freely roamed this part of South Africa. The magic of the Pilanesberg lies in its unique geology; it's ancient history and the wide diversity of game and birds. Enjoy a fascinating game drive with Marie and assistant as your guides as you explore this dramatic area.

For overnight accommodation, you can choose to stay either at the Manyane Resort at the entrance to the reserve or at Bakgatla Resort, a rest camp nestling at the foot of Garamoga Hill. There are also luxury lodges bordering on the Park. The Pilanesberg area is malaria free. Places of interest en route to Pilanesberg include the Magaliesberg mountain range and the Cradle of Humankind.
